You know what January is like, you want to change everything, all at once (if not sooner) - diet, exercise, wardrobe... and that is exactly what I decided to do with my monthly beauty box subscription. I have been getting the 'You Beauty Discovery Box' for a long old time and, whilst I really enjoyed picking what I wanted from a menu, I felt like I was a little bored of it and decided to make a change.

My last box was my January one, so I thought I would use this post and video to introduce you to what I chose in it's place, as well as show you what I got in my very last one.

In this month's You Beauty Discovery box I chose:
:: Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm (full size £14.50) & Overnight Recharge Night Serum (£33.50)
I actually really like the cleanser; it has a thick, balm-like texture that is very easy to massage in to dry skin. You can see it breaking down all your make-up (including stubborn, long-lasting liquid eye-liner - a tad gross but darn good to see melt away!) and when you add water it transforms into more of a milky formula that is easily removed with a muslin cloth. I didn't leave my skin tight and felt very comfortable and non-irritating on my skin. The night cream/serum was pretty standard, but it is really hard to know how good a product that makes changes over time really is with a small sample. The texture was a medium-heavy cream that felt nice to put on and smelt pleasant enough. The one down-side for me (and this is purely my own preference) is that it still left a veil over my skin by morning, which I really don't like.

:: Afyna Organic Detoxifying Body Scrub (full size £17.00)
Before I say anything about this scrub I should probably say that I like my body exfoliator's to pack some punch, think Soap and Glory's 'The Breakfast Scrub' (what I am currently using). I want to scrub my skin and then feel so darn slippery once I have washed it off that I marvel over it for hours. This just did not happen with this scrub. I put it on and started to work it in and it immediately disappeared to nothing. Sorry Afyna, it just wasn't for me.

My new subscription is to the Birch Box. I chose this after it was recommended by several of you guys and my YouTube subscribers, so thanks guys! I ended up seeing a great deal, in partnership with Women's Health, which included getting Birch Boxes and 10 months of the magazine, so I am super happy with that!

I won't list all that I got in this box on this post, or else you will certainly be sleepy before we are done, but the video has all the links to the products (if you watch it on my main YouTube Channel and click in the little box below the video). The highlight product for me was the REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask (full price £30.00) which gives the skin amazing life and luminosity after use.

Why not check out the video for all the information and stay tuned to see more Birch Box reviews every month :-)
