The 'No Make Up Make Up' - New YouTube Video!

 photo fromlucywithlove-natural-make-up_zps0c8b89aa.png

Happy Monday everyone. How was your weekend? Good I hope. Last week I filmed this very simple make up 'look' (I can't think of another word, but it isn't really a 'look'!!) I hope you like it. It is just something for those days where you want a bit of make up to make you feel alive but are not in the mood for anything too heavy or time consuming.

I really like to use a good BB cream on days like this and am currently LOVING the Garnier Oil Free one - it is very liquidy but really kicks ass in terms of not slipping about on my face or sitting in my pores. Teamed with my Nivea primer I believe I am onto a winner! You will have to let me know what you think.

Home Update for Spring.

We have only been in the house we are currently living in for a short amount of time, meaning there are still a vast amount of boxes in the spare room and copious amount of space in the lounge (we have a large lounge with hardly any furniture at all). Whilst we are trying to save for a chair and a side board (it'll take forever!) I have started to think about getting a few cheap bits and bobs to brighten up the place and make it a little more homely, whilst we are building our furniture collection up.

Recently, I have become rather addicted to looking at H & M Home-ware - I really like a lot of the things they have, so thought I would show a few things here that I would love in our home.
 photo From-Lucy-With-Love-H-and-M-home_zpsd9736dc9.png
1. Patterned mug £3.99 / 2. Grey woven blanket £29.99 / 3. Blue metal tin £7.99 (there are loads of gorgeous colours in this range!) / 4. Cushions (variety of prices) / 5. 'Hope' Candle £3.99 / 6. Wooden bowl £6.99 / 7. Glass vase £6.99

Have you checked out any spring home-ware recently - what are you looking at for your home?

Loving, Needing, Meh! #39

 photo image56_zpsea3adaf2.jpeg

This week I have been LOVING:
  • Normality has been resumed...just about! Can I put that as something I am 'Loving' this week? The thing is I haven't had the best run of it health-wise since Christmas, so I am hoping I have had my quota for the next couple of years at least! I have finished my antibiotics (my word, they were horrendous blighters!) and am back to 99% health so, yes, I think that is something I am loving this week!
  • Discovering new blogs, well, new to me anyway! I have been looking for a bit of inspiration recently. I want to include a bit more lifestyle here so I was trawling my favourite blogs for ideas when I stumbled across 'Cider With Rosie'. I am hooked. Her blog is honest, inspirational and has the cutest photos and writing. I really enjoy reading it and it fills me with a nice sense of hope and warmth... you should check it out.
  • Mini eggs. (They need no explanation!)
  • Books. Hold the phone people, Lucy has started reading again. Yee-haaa! I used to read all the time, for hours. It was something I did to relax and to switch off. Recently I have become useless at turning off my thoughts and when I tried to read I would find that I couldn't get a grip on the story as my thoughts were whizzing about up there and acting as a huge distraction. I have persevered and am now working my way through books like I used too. My current read is 'The Fault in Our Stars' by John Green. I am really enjoying it, even though it has a sad undertone, which, I have been warned, will get more upsetting, but it is a lovely read.
This week I have been NEEDING:
  • A haircut. I last had one on New Years Eve - and now I have a flat mop of hair. I get my hair cut where I go to the gym and whenever I walk past I feel like I have to hide from my hair dresser in case she grabs me and demands I sit in the chair immediately... better make an appointment!
  • No cravings. When I was poorly I barely ate a thing. When my hunger returned it returned with a super-force! I have been trying to restrain myself from eating everything in sight this week and to add insult to injury I have been craving sugar like no tomorrow. Someone tie my hands up! I can only assume it is because my energy was so low and my body needs more, I know sugar is not the way forward though!
This weeks 'MEH!':
  • Having zero time (again) to blog. I have decided that I need to be better at pre-scheduling at weekends, rather than assuming I will 'feel like it' after work - which doesn't often happen as I train or work late and get home at 9pm - eat...fall asleep on the sofa... that sort of thang! I don't know when life got SO crazy!

Sunday Skincare Routine: New YouTube Video!

 photo fromlucywithlove-Sunday-Skincare_zpscfdf6fd6.png

Happy Sunday everyone! I have to apologise (again) for this blog not having the tlc it deserves recently - I cannot tell you how poorly I have been - AGAIN. I am on the mend now and I hope that all will be returned to normal! So, please forgive my absence - but I am here now!

I recently had a couple of skincare video requests so decided that I would get one filmed and up today. I have called it my 'Sunday Skincare Routine' as it is more of a pamper but it is identical to what I do every morning, minus the masks! I hope you enjoy it. Please subscribe to my channel if you want to stay up to date with everything and get in touch, via the magic of social media, if you have something you would like to ask or a video request!

New YouTube Video: March 'You Beauty Discovery Box'

 photo fromlucywithlove-March-Beauty-Box-2014_zps72f667cd.png
This month's 'You Beauty Discovery Box' arrived with a giant crash under the letterbox, which I thought was very exciting as this meant there must be something extra special in there (plus it said 'limited edition' on the front!). From the menu this month I chose two cleansers. For months I have been wanting a balm cleanser to take off my evening make up and, as there was The Body Shop Camomile Balm Cleanser up for grabs, this is one I decided to go for.

This cleanser is one I have always wanted to try as I always love The Body Shop products. This smells divine too and melts your make up off like a dream. The one downside is how you have to scoop it out with your fingers. You need to make sure you don't have wet fingers otherwise you leave a puddle of water in the tin, that aside though, this product is a dream! I was lucky to receive the full size of this product and a muslin cloth to take it off with. Considering the full price for this cleanser is £12.00, I feel like I have already made my money back on a £6.95 per month beauty box! (Mini Mexican wave to me!)

The second cleaners I chose was a foaming one. Now, I haven't used a foaming cleanser for ages, but this one sounded interesting, so I gave it a go. Since I recorded the video I have tried it only once, so can't report results yet, but if it is any good I am sure it'll make it into my favourites! The cleanser is by 'Beautylab' and is their 'Glyco Wash Foaming Cleanser'. I received the 100ml bottle, but you can buy it, from what I can tell, only in 200ml bottles, which cost a whopping £32.00! The deal with this product is to only use it 2-3 times per week and it says you have to massage it into your skin for 2 minutes to get the benefits. It claims to be best suited to acne prone skin, skin with enlarged pores and ageing skin. I am intrigued to see how this works after I have used it for a while. It is very gentle on the skin - I half expected it to sting and be quite drying, but it was very calming, so it looks like a promising find!

To see the other products I received please watch the video! (There is also a mini Boots haul in the too!)

Loving, Needing, Meh! #38

 photo image55_zps92f3ffcb.jpeg

This week I have been LOVING:
  • Exercise!! Woo-hoo! My word, it feels good to get the blood pumping around my body again! I am on a bit of a mission at the moment to get in shape for the warmer weather. I don't believe in diets, just permanent changes to your routine and lifestyle. I am going to try and do a blog post soon about what I am doing at the moment so eyes peeled for that. It feels good to exercise though, mentally and physically!
  • Is it boring to say sunshine? If you are reading this from another country you have to know that the UK has had SO much bad weather, I know we are kind of known for the odd bit of rain, but the recent weather has been utterly ridiculous! So, when the sun popped out this week I suddenly felt all optimistic and cheery! It makes the world of different, it really does. I want to fill the house with flowers, fling the windows open and sit in the garden, letting my skin soak in the sun...
  • Talented students. I work in the best school ever - I love my job and love to work with such amazing young people. This week was the Main School Production and it was fantastic. I get like a proud mother watching the students as they blossom into these amazing performers! They are inspiring to me, and have endless energy!
This week I have been NEEDING:

  •  Clothes without holes. On Sunday, when the sun was shining, I was overheating and pulled out some of my thinner sweaters, only to find that they all had little holes in - they were not all stored in the same place but seemed to have hole right where my belly button is - do I have a hungry belly button?? Need new rags people!
  • Time to read! I have some gorgeous, beautiful, wonderful, amazing new books...I love books, can you tell? I am desperate to sit and read - where did the days disappear to when I used to curl up on the sofa and devour a book in just a few days? They are just a faint imprint in my mind now as life has gone crazzzzy!
This weeks 'MEH!':
  • Over the last two days I developed an horrible throat and cough and last night, after exercising like a nutter (which, I probably shouldn't have done) I developed a fever. I was shivering and wrapping up, with Joe telling me 'you are boiling hot' and putting a cold flannel on my head... this morning I am wrapped up and cold, then hot, then cold... I will fight this thang! I cannot and will not be ill just as I have started training again....NO!

Loving, Needing, Meh! #37

 photo image54_zpsd84e5b7c.jpeg
This week I have been LOVING:
  • Massage! I was lucky enough to visit a spa last weekend with the bestie. We were both slightly overwhelmed by how many steam rooms, sauna's and various relaxation spaces that were on offer but soon adapted to our surroundings!! We had the most amazing massage and facial, which successfully chilled me out a bit! We also had rather a comical encounter with a mud treatment... we were instructed to cover ourselves in this freezing cold mud and pop on a face mask, which we did. When the therapist returned to switch on the steam she told us to sit for 20 minutes and let the steam warm us up and help the mud to penetrate the skin... 20 minutes later, still no steam! Just two shivering, flaky ladies! We did amuse ourselves by singing a bit and leaving muddy hand-prints all over the shop but, needless to say, we were a little chilly! We couldn't quite bring ourselves to wander out of the room into the posh corridor to find someone - covered head to toe in brown mud (swimsuit on too may I just add!). Needless to say we did get a refund on that treatment!
  • Lovely Australian YouTube fan! I had the most lovely comment EVER this week. On Thursday I was feeling sleepy and worn out and was on my way to a school competition (...and a 17 hour day ahead!) when I received a notification from my Facebook Page. When I checked it out I had a gorgeous private message from a lovely viewer of my YouTube Channel. It is so nice to receive lovely comments and this one was the best! Gave me a wonderful lift for the rest of my day :-)
This week I have been NEEDING:
  • A trip to town! I was lucky enough to have received a few vouchers for my birthday and am dying to have a spendathon! It is not often I get a chance to have guilt-free spending so it'll be nice! Boots, here I come!
This weeks 'MEH'!:
  • Not being at home much. Since we got back from Cornwall I have been at home the least amount of time ever - which totally sucks actually. I come home, unpack, sleep, pack and leave again! This weekend there is nothing planned other than time at home though, which is good - I feel like a lodger in my own house right now!

The end of another month means another favourites video! This month has been crazy busy and shorter than your average month but I still have a few bits and pieces to show you, plus, it was my birthday on 26th so I included a few of the smaller bits I got from the lovely ladies at work and from Joe too! I had a great day and was a very lucky girl.
